A Baloch student who was visiting his cousin at Punjab University in Lahore was 'picked up' by plainclothes men who came in a Vigo. A footage of the incident doing the rounds on social media shows the student being shoved into the car by three men.

Bebagr Imdad studies English literature at National University of Modern Languages (NUML) in Islamabad. He had come to Lahore to spend Eid holidays with his cousin at the latter's hostel in Punjab University.

Meanwhile, the Baloch Student Council in Lahore has expressed concerns over the security of Baloch students.

The incident comes a day after Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for a suicide attack outside Karachi University that killed three Chinese nationals and a Pakistani. In the statement, the council had called on the authorities to stop the harassment of Baloch students.

Journalists and activists also condemned the incident on social media and termed it a gross violation of human rights.
