During an Israeli raid in Ramallah, one of the Palestinians shot by the soldiers died from his injuries, according to reports from Al Jazeera journalists in the occupied West Bank.

According to sources cited by Al Jazeera, there are now 15 injured from the raid in Ramallah. A second attack on Halhul city resulted in at least nine more injuries.

Speaking late on Tuesday, Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila told the Dubai-based news organization Al Arabiya that just eight hospitals in the southern Gaza Strip are partially operational.

The World Health Organization's (WHO) director lamented the "tragedy" of Gaza's health system's "decimation" last week.

The director of the World Health Organisation issued a dire warning to the people of Gaza on Wednesday, noting widespread despair and extreme hunger across the Palestinian enclave devastated by conflict.

According to the WHO, 21 of the 36 hospitals in the Gaza Strip are no longer operational at all. On Tuesday, supplies were sent to two hospitals, one in the north and one in the south.

"Urgent steps to alleviate the grave peril facing the population of Gaza and jeopardize the ability of humanitarian workers to help people with terrible injuries, acute hunger, and severe risk of disease" is what WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has called on the international community to do.

The World Health Organisation stated in a statement that its staff reported on Tuesday that there is a "continuing to be acute" need for food throughout the Gaza Strip and that "hungry people again stopped our convoys today in the hope of finding food."

"WHO's ability to supply medicines, medical supplies, and fuel to hospitals is being increasingly constrained by the hunger and desperation of people en route to, and within, the hospitals we reach," said the statement.
