Earlier, the PTI had urged the coalition government to call snap polls in the country.
Addressing a presser in Islamabad today, Sanaullah said that the PTI would never prefer snap polls, adding that the party is making such demands only to discredit the government.
The interior minister challenged former prime minister and PTI Chairperson Imran Khan to dissolve both Punjab and KP assemblies if he is “sincere” in his demand for early polls.
He said that snap polls can be held in the country if the two assemblies are dissolved.
He said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is in favour of snap polls but has been silent due to concerns of the coalition partners, adding that party supremo Nawaz Sharif is still in favour of going for early elections.
Talking about the PTI’s foreign funding case, he demanded the ECP to “immediately announce” the verdict in the case.
"The case is pending for the last eight years... it has been reserved. I fail to understand what's the hurdle in announcing the verdict," he questioned.
