A soldier from the Royal Pakistan Artillery poses with a 105mm Howitzer artillery gun gifted by the US as part of a large military aid program. The picture was taken in Nowshera and released on September 27, 1955.

"Medium tanks, communication equipment and engineering supplies are among other major items being furnished to Pakistan by the US," according to the original caption. "A team of instructors from Ft Sill, Oklahoma, has been sent to the Pakistan Artillery School at Nowshera to train Pakistan Army officers in the use of the equipment. The officers will pass along the training to Pakistani troops. The veil of super-secrecy surrounding the aid program was lifted recently when newsmen got a look at the Nowshera installation."
