Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Al Qadir University in Jehlum, he stated that colonialism had resulted in Muslims all over the world suffering from mental slavery.
He talked about the relationship between Islam and Science and how the two moved together in harmony. He also spoke about education and regretted that there were no universities in the country that were researching the lives of prominent Muslim personalities. The prime minister also emphasised the importance of speaking the truth and dispensing justice.
He also stressed the importance of engaging in Ijtihad and lamented that difference of opinion was not tolerated in Pakistan. He added that students in Pakistani universities will be taught about the leadership concept provided by the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He said that a selfish and cowardly person could never become a leader.
He also indirectly criticised former premier Nawaz Sharifs speech at the Asma Jehangir conference, saying that a convicted felon was allowed to deliver a speech at a forum where judges of the supreme court were speaking.
