PTI Leaders Fear Governor's Rule as Gandapur Issues Bold Ultimatum

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur warned that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party would take drastic action across the country if its founder, Imran Khan, is mistreated in Adiala Jail.

This statement came after Khan's sister, Aleema Khan, raised concerns about poor conditions in the jail, including unhygienic food that allegedly made him sick and a lack of electricity in his cell since October 3.

In a video shared on PTI’s official social media account, Gandapur criticized the federal and Punjab governments for their treatment of Khan, who is facing restrictions on visits from family and party members. He urged supporters to be ready for action, claiming that the government’s time is running out. He stated, "We have to get rid of this government by shutting down the whole of Pakistan and reclaiming the stolen mandate."

Gandapur also addressed party members who he accused of betraying Khan after the recent 26th Constitutional Amendment, labeling them as traitors and saying they would not be forgiven.

His strong statements have raised concerns among PTI leaders about the possibility of governor's rule being imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Party member Sher Afzal Marwat expressed fears that Gandapur's aggressive rhetoric could give opponents a reason to dissolve the provincial government.

Despite PTI’s worries about Khan's health, party chairman Gohar Khan confirmed earlier this month that he was in "good health" after a medical team from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences visited him in jail.
