As per state-run Radio Pakistan, the COAS will be visiting Swat to get a ground update about evacuation and relief operations of stranded people in Kurmat, Kalam and surrounding areas.
According to a statement from the ISPR, 82 helicopters have been dispatched and deployed in the various flood affected areas of the country to conduct rescue and relief operations. During the last 24 hours alone, 27 helicopter sorties have evacuated 316 stranded individuals and delivered over 23,000 tons of ration and relief items.
Meanwhile, seven military aircraft from Turkey and three from the UAE have arrived in Rawalpindi. The aircraft were carrying relief goods meant to aid in the flood evacuation process. An additional two aircraft from China, carrying 3000 tents, as well as Tarpaulins and shelters from Japan will land in Karachi on Tuesday.
