A private news channel has suspended news anchor Ashfaque Ishaq Satti after his second wife, Nomaika, accused him of abuse and domestic violence.
In a statement posted on X yesterday night, the news channel denounced abusive conduct and announced his suspension until the inquiry was completed.
"The ARY Management has taken serious note of the domestic abuse charges against anchorperson Ashfaq Satti. He is hereby suspended with immediate effect until the law settles the case. ARY has a zero-tolerance policy against violence or threats of violence, whether at work or at home," the channel's management stated in a tweet on X.
It is pertinent to mention here that Nomaika has accused Ashfaque of shutting her in the room and brutally assaulting her while threatening to kill her.
According to recent developments, Nomaika is Ashfaque Ishaq Satti's second wife. His first wife divorced him for domestic abuse and violence. His second wife, Nomaika, was caring for his children from his previous marriage. He also has a third wife named Zara Satti.
Nomaika alleges Ashfaque married Zara for the third time after engaging in an unlawful relationship with her.
