Former Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ibad has announced the formation of a new party, only days after confirming his return to politics after a years-long absence.

Dr. Ibad, a former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader, has lived in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) since stepping down as Sindh governor in 2016.

In a statement, Dr. Ibad, who served as governor for 14 years, said he would invite MQM-Pakistan (MQM-P) officials to join his political party and put all issues with them aside.

The former Sindh governor stated that the present government has "less time"—a notion that the ministers have rejected, promising to fulfill their five-year term.

BMI, a Fitch Solutions business, has also predicted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's coalition government may collapse in the next one and a half years due to economic uncertainty.

According to Dr. Ibad, political and economic uncertainty have reached "dangerous levels." He also stated that the security situation was worsening.

"We need strict accountability against corruption to ensure economic prosperity," Dr. Ibad said.

"If governance collapses, the situation might go in any direction. The country needs stringent accountability at this time. "Not only corrupt elements, but also those who rule on merit, should be held accountable," he stated.
