Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti has said that the government is promoting voluntary repatriation of foreign nationals until Wednesday, after which the state will begin its expulsion operation.

While giving an interview, he stated that around 20,000 illegal foreigners departed Pakistan willingly in the previous three days.

The minister said that all provincial governments would be involved in this endeavor, and committees have been created at the divisional and district levels. He said that the deportation of unlawful foreign immigrants will be done in stages, with persons without travel documents being deported first.

He stated that geo-mapping has been done and that the government will find illegal foreign nationals wherever they are. "We have established holding centers, and illegal foreigners will be kept at these centers," he added.

He stated that these centers will provide all fundamental services to illegal foreign nationals.

In response to a query, the interior minister stated that it was the caretaker government's job to help the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) hold general elections. "Whatever the ECP's directions are, we will abide by them," he added.
