Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is expected to visit Pakistan next month.

On September 10, the Saudi crown prince will land in Pakistan. He will remain there for around six hours before leaving on a state visit to India for the G-20 summit.

During his brief visit to Pakistan, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will meet with caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar, Army Chief General Asim Munir, and other state officials.

Ahead of the G20 summit, which will take place in India in September, Amnesty International and five other rights groups signed an open letter demanding an end to human rights abuses in Kashmir and the release of imprisoned human rights activists and political detainees.

Concerns over human rights abuses taking place in Indian-administered Kashmir (IAK) were raised in the letter, which was published on August 23 and sent to representatives of G20 member nations, guest countries, and invited international organizations.

"As your leaders prepare to attend the G20 Summit in September 2023, we urge your government to raise these issues directly and forthrightly with the government of India in accordance with your obligations under international law and call on India to adhere to its international legal obligations," the letter reads.

The letter says that since 2019, when India revoked Article 370A and Article 35A, stripping Jammu and Kashmir’s semi-autonomous status, the government has "continued its repressive policies, including restricting freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, and association, and failed to investigate and prosecute alleged violations committed by its military, paramilitary, police, and other forces".
