The interim Punjab government has extended the winter vacations in all private and public schools for an additional nine days.
All educational institutions will be closed until January 9 before reopening on January 10.
Interim Education Minister Mansoor Qadir stated, "The Punjab caretaker chief minister has decided to extend the winter holidays due to the intensifying cold across the province."
Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi set the timetable for winter breaks in Punjab schools earlier this month.
The winter break will begin on December 18, 2023, and finish on January 1, 2024, giving pupils a prolonged length of time off owing to improved environmental circumstances.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts mostly cold and dry weather for Lahore and most of Punjab during the next two days.

Under these conditions, chilly and dry weather is anticipated to prevail over Punjab on Tuesday night and for the following two days.
During the morning and night hours, smog and fog are anticipated to persist in Narowal, Sialkot, Okara, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khanewal, Multan, Bahawalpur, Khanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and nearby places.
