In a significant development, lawyers in Punjab have taken an unprecedented step to reject calls for a strike and ensured that court proceedings continue uninterrupted across the province.
Despite attempts to disrupt judicial proceedings, lawyers appeared in courts, and cases were heard and decided as scheduled.
According to the Lahore High Court's records, 588 cases were disposed of on Thursday, including 314 at the principal seat, 144 at Multan, 104 at Bahawalpur, and 26 at the Rawalpindi benches. In the subordinate judiciary, 11,768 new cases were filed, and 14,510 cases were decided.
This defiance of strike calls by Punjab's lawyers is a significant blow to those attempting to disrupt the judicial process. The lawyers demonstrated their commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that justice is served. The provincial judiciary appreciated the efforts of lawyers in rejecting strike calls and ensuring the smooth functioning of courts.
Judges in the district judiciary continued to work to dispose of cases and deliver justice.
