PTI Releases Schedule For New Intra-Party Elections

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced the official schedule for its intra-party elections, which will take place on February 5.

Raoof Hasan, the party's spokesperson, has been selected as the federal election commissioner.

"The PTI Federal Election Commission is pleased to announce the Election Schedule for the Intra-party Elections (IPE) of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to elect the Chairman, Central and Provincial Organizations," the statement said.

According to a statement, all members of the party, registered by January 31, would be entitled to vote for their chosen panel or chairman candidate at specified places across Pakistan. Party members can also cast their votes via the 'Raabta Application Intra Party Election Module'.

The Election Rules, 2020, which will be published on the party's official website and Raabta application, clarify the specifics of all the panels participating in the intra-party election as well as the election method in detail.

Polling will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with election sites and the date of the appellate tribunal to be announced on February 1, 2024.

The party declared that potential candidates can acquire nomination papers from the PTI central secretariat or website between February 1 and 2, 2024.

The deadline for filing nomination papers is February 2, 2024, at 10 p.m. Candidates can submit nomination papers at central and provincial secretariats, as well as online via email.

The nomination papers of intra-party election candidates will be scrutinized on February 3, 2024. If the papers are rejected, the deadline for submitting objections will be February 3, 2024, at 10 p.m.

The lists of all the final panels participating in the intra-party election will be posted on the Internet at 4 p.m. on February 4.

The results of the intra-party election will be disclosed on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
