Prime Minister Imran Khan has issued a strong statement against the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), while criticizing Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and said that many politicians in Pakistan stole the country's wealth and took it abroad.
"They [SCBA] are asking the court to give him [Nawaz Sharif] one more chance. SCBA's next petition should be to open [the doors] of all the jails," the prime minister said sarcastically at a ceremony for the newly launched Sehat Insaf Card in Bahawalpur on Tuesday.
The prime minister continued ripping into the Sharif family, saying that Nawaz's sons are 'sitting in London on properties worth billions,' with no accountability as to where their wealth came from.
“London is the most expensive city in Europe and their homes are located in London’s most expensive area. He has sent his kids abroad. When you ask the three-time prime minister how did his kids accumulate billions, he says to ask the kids and when you ask them, they say that they are not Pakistani citizens,” PM Imran said.
He blamed the state of the country's economy on 'dacoit' politicians who had robbed the country and parked the national loot abroad.
“When you go into the details you will find out why our country could not reach the place it should have been. If you let a dacoit sit in a factory, then it will go bankrupt," he assured.
