According to a ministry statement, "In view of the upcoming general elections 2024, which will be held in Pakistan on February 8, 2024, it has been decided to declare public holidays from February 6 to 9."
It further stated that the educational institutions in the federal capital will "reopen on February 10 (Saturday)."
However, public and private schools will remain closed from February 3 to 11. The schools follow two weekly holidays: Saturday and Sunday; hence, they will be closed on Saturday (February 3).
In addition, the federal government designated February 5 (Monday) a national holiday in honor of "Kashmir Solidarity Day." Educational institutions would be closed from February 6 to 9 for the national elections.
