Educational Institutions To Remain Closed From Feb 3–11 In Islamabad

Following Punjab and Sindh, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training stated on Thursday that educational institutions will close from February 6 to 9 in preparation for the country's approaching general elections.

According to a ministry statement, "In view of the upcoming general elections 2024, which will be held in Pakistan on February 8, 2024, it has been decided to declare public holidays from February 6 to 9."

It further stated that the educational institutions in the federal capital will "reopen on February 10 (Saturday)."

However, public and private schools will remain closed from February 3 to 11. The schools follow two weekly holidays: Saturday and Sunday; hence, they will be closed on Saturday (February 3).

In addition, the federal government designated February 5 (Monday) a national holiday in honor of "Kashmir Solidarity Day." Educational institutions would be closed from February 6 to 9 for the national elections.

After a nine-day vacation, schools would resume on February 12 (Monday).
