King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia has extended an invitation to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) supremo Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who are seen as being closest to the royal family, to perform Umrah in the country.
According to reliable sources, Nawaz Sharif, who has been living in self-imposed exile in London since November 2019 due to health reasons, will go on a private plane to Saudi Arabia on April 11 with his daughter Maryam Nawaz and other family members.
Nawaz Sharif will visit Saudi Arabia as a royal guest. The sources further stated that he would spend the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan at Medina and Makkah.
However, the schedule of Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Saudi Arabia has not been announced so far.
It is important to note that a number of ministers and members of national and provincial assemblies have made arrangements to perform Hajj during this time.
On Saturday, senior journalist Muzamal Suharwardy revealed on Naya Daur TV's program 'Sitting Committee' that Nawaz Sharif was going to Saudi Arabia. He had also mentioned that the former PM's daughter, Maryam Nawaz, was also likely to visit Saudi Arabia during the same days and meet her father there.
