The Pakistan women's cricket team made history by defeating New Zealand for the first time in the first match of a three-match T20I series.
The Pakistani squad defeated hosts New Zealand by seven wickets in the first T20I match played in Dunedin, marking Pakistan's first victory against New Zealand in nine T20I matches.
The New Zealand women's team won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring 127 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. The Pakistani team reached the goal with three wickets down in 18.2 overs.
On behalf of Pakistan, opener Shawaal Zulfiqar scored 41 runs, while Fatima Sana took three wickets and gave 18 runs.
Fatima Sana was chosen Player of the Match for her outstanding bowling.
The second Twenty20 match will be played on December 5.
