The Lahore High Court (LHC) has revoked its stay order and permitted elections for the position of chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The verdict on a petition filed against the PCB chairman election, which was set for June 27, was announced by Justice Anwar Hussain.
The petitioner argued that the PCB election commissioner had improperly changed the interim management committee board of governors. He pleaded with the court to invalidate his attempt to create a new board of governors by finding the election commissioner's action to be unconstitutional.
The PCB lawyer stated at the hearing that Justice Shahid Karim was also hearing many petitions challenging the PCB elections but had not yet rendered a decision.
After hearing arguments, Justice Anwar revoked the stay order that was imposed on June 28. Additionally, he forwarded the case to the chief judge of the LCH, requesting that he group all the complaints against the PCB chairman election.
It is pertinent to mention here that on June 27, the Pakistan Cricket Board's attempt to organize elections for the chairman position was halted by the Balochistan High Court (BHC).
