Sanjay Leela Bhansali's historical drama about 'Tawaifs' in the Heeramandi area has been revived for a second season. On Monday, the show's streaming site announced the next season.
The announcement video shows a fan event where dancers can be seen dancing on Mumbai's Carter Road.
Heeramandi was launched on May 1. The Netflix series, which starred Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal, Taha Shah Badussha, and others, became hugely popular among fans.
The first season of Heeramandi focused on the power dynamics between the ladies of Heeramandi, the Nawabs, and British rule in the subcontinent. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has indicated that the second season will focus on women who leave Lahore after partition to work in the film industries of Mumbai and Kolkata.
