The weather in Karachi got chilly on Sunday (today) as the cold intensified, with the current temperature reported at 14°C.
On Friday, Karachi experienced heavy rains and thunderstorms, followed by a cold wave.
Heavy rain fell on II Chundrigar Road, Saddar, Sarjani Town, Malir, North Karachi, Korangi Industrial Area, Orangi Town, Baldia Town, Manghopir, Northern Bypass, and Sohrab Goth Town.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the winds are now blowing from the northwest at 16 kilometers per hour.
The Met Office predicts that the weather in the port city will be dry, chilly, and gloomy for the next 24 hours. It said that today's lowest temperature was 13°C.
Meanwhile, the Met Department reported that the humidity in the air was 28%. "The maximum temperature is likely to go up to 24 to 26°C," according to the report.
Meanwhile, weather experts stated on Saturday that there was no likelihood of rain in Karachi because the westerly waves had passed. He indicated the sky would be clear and dry, with cool evenings.
He predicted that the wave of unseasonal cold in Karachi would pass quickly since winds from Quetta would continue to blow for a few days, reaching speeds of 30 to 40 km per hour.
