The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday concluded contempt proceedings against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan in connection with his remarks on Additonal District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) Zeba Chaudhry at an August 20 show of power.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah, who chaired the bench composed of Justices Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, Babar Sattar, Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and Minagul Hassan Aurangzeb heard arguments today.
Imran's cousel told the court that a reply had been submitted for the third time on Saturday. The affadavit had been perused Justice Minallah said. The IHC CJ then said a show-cause notice issued to the PTI chief stood rescinded. This, he said, was the unanimous decision of the bench.
A repentant Imran Khan had earlier on Friday landed at the court of judicial magistrate Zeba Chaudhry.
Police told the PTI chairman that she was on leave after locking her room. “I had come to apologise to judicial magistrate Zeba Chaudhry,” Khan told court staff.
“Tell Madam Zeba Chaudhry I visited and wanted to apologise if my remarks had hurt her sentiments,” he said. He then left the premises.
