A war of words has erupted between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat and party founder Imran Khan's close aide Salman Ahmad on social networking site X, previously known as Twitter.
The feud between the two began after Salman reposted a message in which he questioned the politician's objectives and claimed that Marwat was rightly marginalized by the PTI founder.
He also referred to Marwat as a "wrong number," like former party leader Khurram Hameed Khan Rokhri, who had earlier published an exposé on the PTI and was later suspended.
Salman stated on X, "And Mr. @sherafzalmarwat you took undue advantage of your leader. @ImranKhanPTI has rightfully sidelined you. Like Khurram Rokhri, you are also the wrong number."
In a separate tweet, Ahmad wrote: "If all true supporters of @ImranKhanPTI keep their eyes and ears open, IK will be among us sooner than later.”
The statements clearly irritated Marwat, who, rather than directly responding to Ahmad's message, published his answer on X, saying that his tweet was simply done to garner "attention."
"Mr. Salman Ahmad: Your tweet reflects your true colors and intellectual capacity. Such tweet makers try to earn attention and following at the cost of controversies," he wrote.
Addressing the singer, Marwat stated that people like Ahmad will be dealt with properly by his social media team, "where we have put in some experts to make you mend your ways."
"Wait till April 5th, and you and others will get their due," he said.
Ahmad, who had no intention of ending the fight, reacted to Marwat by writing, "Only those who are afraid of the truth resort to threats." My leader is @ImranKhanPTI. He has recognized you. "You are no longer reliable."
The artist then stated that he had "unfollowed" the politician.
