The introduction of the E-Stamp means any citizen can sit at home and apply for a stamp paper of the required value on a mobile phone or computer, which can be paid through a challan at any branch of the National Bank of Pakistan where the E-stamp can be collected.
On this occasion, the Assistant Director Board of Revenue Abdul Wahab Khan and Sahibzada Muhammad Shuja AD Software E-Stamp were also present. Additional Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Irfan was Chief guest and he was accompanied by Additional Assistant Commissioner Adnan Haider Maloki, Tehsildar Amjad, DSP Sher Wazir, traders, bank staff and other guests.
The National Bank Manager Amjad Ahmed Sani said that the main objective is to prevent fraudulent practices related to documents and processing. In the same way, the limitation of reduction in the collection of government revenue is to be determined.
In addition, information and documents related to revenue and more would be stored in electronic digital form and a central database would be created to facilitate the verification process. He said that now any one can apply for it sitting at home and now people have to collect it through bank challan as they want to get stamp paper according to their need, while in the past stamp vendor charging extra money from people.
Miss Hasina Khanum said that with launching of E-stamp, now women would also be able to apply for stamp paper easily from the privacy of their homes and obtain it easily.
Assistant Director Board of Revenue Abdul Wahaab Khan said that this is a good initiative by the Provincial Chief Minister. He said that the purpose of E Stamp is to convert manual stamps into electronic ones so that there is no chance for any kind of error or fraud. Another benefit is that no stamp paper will be issued in the back date, as in the past, some mafias used to take out a back dated stamp paper and use it for forgery and tempering and often through fake documents illegally occupy the land of other people. Apart from this, with this electronic system disputes over land between people will be resolved it easily.
The Provincial Chief Minister spoke about how it started with the support of Punjab Information Board and Board of Revenue Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He went on to share that the system has been launched it in ten other districts of the province and Chitral is the eleventh district where e-stamp was launched. Earlier one had to wait for four to five days to get stamp paper, which was sometimes not available in market but now any citizen can get it from website via mobile or computer. In addition, their entire record will be computerised and will be available on the Revenue Department website (BoR).
Sahibzada Muhammad Shuja AD Software E-Stamp said that the main purpose of issuing this e-stamp is to issue electronic stamp paper to the people in a clear and transparent manner and all the disputes on the ground due to the fake stamp paper between the people will be resolved. And now there will be no opportunity for fraud and forgery or any tempering through manual stamp papers. He further added that now the e-stamp for which purpose it has been issued cannot be used for any other purpose.
Amjad Ahmed Sani explained that a separate counter will be set up inside the bank for obtaining e-stamps, where any person can come and get their required stamp paper in ten to fifteen minutes and people will save a lot of time in this way. He said that now the people can get the stamp by depositing the actual amount of e-stamp i.e. its value in the bank and they do not need to pay any extra money. There will be no scope for taking possession of someone else's land through tempering and forgery and duplicate documents.
