Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan rained down on former Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, terming the extension in his service a “mistake”.
During an interview with a private news channel on Saturday, the former premier said, “I made a big mistake in granting an extension to Gen Bajwa. I am convinced that no one in the army should get one.”
He said that he had the same opinion then, but added that he was told it was necessary for the country’s stability.

PTI chairman went on to accuse the former COAS of engaging in “double games” and sending “mixed messages.”
According to him, the general had denied establishment’s contact with the opposition at the time.
“Our party’s members were receiving mixed messages and it was all so strange,” he added.
To a question about the dissolution of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies, Imran said his party will only wait until March and then it will make its decisive move.
