
In a major development on Friday, Sujawal police arrested two suspects reportedly involved in robbing a Polish tourist couple on December 29th at the Sujawal-Badin bypass.
Addressing a news conference at the SSP office, District Police Chief Dr. Khalique Pirzada stated that, in line with the directions issued by DIG Hyderabad, modern techniques were used to track down the accused involved in the crime.
Sujawal police conducted a raid on the suspects' hideouts on Friday and arrested two individuals, identified as Maqbool Hathiyar and Nadeem Ubauro, while their accomplice, Imran, managed to escape.
Police recovered two mobile phones from the arrested suspects, allegedly belonging to the Polish tourists, Kowalczyk Jakuo Tomasz (aka Jacub) and his spouse Scantamburlo Mae Elisabeth (aka Merry).
"We will put all our efforts to ensure justice in this high-profile case," vowed the SSP of Sujawal, adding that the hard work of the Sujawal police had paid off.
Further discussing the initiatives taken by Sujawal police, he noted that the team of IT experts played an instrumental role in achieving a major breakthrough in the case. He also mentioned that the incident had damaged the reputation of the police, but by the grace of Allah Almighty, the force's reputation had now been restored.
Later, SSP Sujawal and his team presented traditional Sindhi caps and Ajraks to the Polish tourist couple and assured them of continued cooperation in the future. Kowalczyk Jakuo Tomasz from Poland and his wife Scantamburlo Mae Elisabeth from France were cycling along the bypass when the robbers stopped them at gunpoint and stole their valuables.
