The lawyers representing the PML-N have filed a complaint against SC judge Mazahar Naqvi over alleged misconduct, in the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).
The complainants asked the Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial to order a probe against the judge in wake of the audio clips surfacing on social media, Express Tribune reported.
According to the plea, Justice Naqvi "deviated from the code of conduct" and "passed inconsistent orders in the same matter".
The lawyers maintained that this attitude and action runs counter to the spirit of the desired conduct. The complaint went on to add that the judge "misused his authority as a judge of the apex court in the most obvious manners".
The viral audio clips show the top court's judge to be allegedly involved in conversations with the former chief minister Punjab Parvez Elahi, who has now joined PTI and recently, party's leader Fawad Chaudhry.

In a recording of a purported call, Fawad can be heard telling his brother Faisal to meet someone with the name of Mazahar and convey to him that "the entire truck is standing beside you, so tell us what to do now."
The earlier clip allegedly featured former chief minister Punjab Parvez Elahi discussing fixing a case to a particular bench or judge, with Justice Naqvi. Both Fawad and Elahi denied the audio clips.
Also, a family member of the senior judge dismissed the allegations leveled against him, and termed it a “smear campaign to malign the judiciary”.
Late last month, a reference was filed against Justice Naqvi in SJC for his 'assets beyond known means'.
The reference requested to initiate a probe against the Supreme Court judge’s assets worth Rs3 billion.
The petitioner had also sought an inquiry into Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi’s alleged audio leak as well.
