PM Shehbaz Calls Out India For Continued Oppression Of IIOJK On Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir
On Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned India for its continued oppression of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) using 'unbridled force'.

Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir is being observed in the country to mark the third year of India's military siege of IIOJK on August 5 2019.

The prime minister in a series of tweets said, "Today marks the 3rd sombre anniversary of India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August 2019 that aimed at changing the internationally recognized disputed status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir and altering the demographic structure of the occupied territory."

He further said that India has used 'unbridled force' with complete impunity, adding that many generations of Kashmiris have shown great perseverance in the face of fear, intimidation, torture and human rights violations. However, he said, "Indian oppression has failed to dent their resolve."

"The Jammu & Kashmir dispute has been a battle of hope against overwhelming odds, of courage against fear & of sacrifice against tyranny," PM Shehbaz said, adding that today Pakistanis will pay tributes to all the Kashmiri martyrs and their families for their sacrifices and courage.

President Arif Alvi also issued a statement on the occasion.

Speaking to Twitter, he said "While marking three years of India's illegal and unilateral actions on August 5, 2019, we honor the sacrifices of the Kashmiris in their just struggle for their right to self-determination."

He said that three generations of Kashmiris have suffered at the hands of India's 'campaign of brutalization', and that the 2019 siege by India went against United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions, which had stipulated that a free and impartial plebiscite be conducted to resolve the Kashmir dispute.

"The unabated Indian state-terrorism includes the extra-judicial killing of more than 650 innocent Kashmiris since August 5, 2019, unprecedented restrictions on freedom of speech, fake encounters, 'cordon-and-search' operations, custodial torture and deaths, enforced disappearances, incarceration of senior Kashmiri leadership and young boys, use of pellet guns, especially targeting the Kashmiri youth; destruction and burning of houses to inflict "collective punishment" on the Kashmiris, and other methods of subjugation."
