Lahoris are bracing themselves for searing temperatures as the mercury in Punjab continues to rise, and the beginning of load shedding is making matters worse.
The Meteorological Department has forecast that Lahore will see more heat than usual, with highs of 40 degrees Celsius expected today and 43 degrees this week as the hot, dry weather persists.
Nonetheless, the Met Department reports that there is a 30% possibility of rain in the capital of Punjab on Sunday.
Rising temperatures are already having an impact on Lahore residents, and many are finding their daily lives disrupted by the frequent power outages.
Experts urge people to stay hydrated and cover their heads before leaving their homes. "Avoid going out of the house unnecessarily during hot weather," the experts advise.
Meanwhile, Karachi and its coastal equivalents in Sindh are bracing for high temperatures in the coming days. The weather forecast predicts a rise in mercury levels, with temperatures reaching 46 degrees Celsius in upper and central Sindh.
Temperatures in Karachi are forecast to range between 36°C and 38°C, with increased humidity levels making it seem more like 40°C to 44°C.
