Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmad Anjum has been appointed as the new Director General of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI). His appointment came following the posting of former DG ISI Faiz Hameed as the Peshawar Corps Commander.
Who is Lt Gen Anjum?
Previously, Lt Gen Anjum served as the commander of Karachi Corps. In 2019, he was promoted as lieutenant general.
The new DG ISI hails from the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA)'s 78th Long Course and the Punjab Regiment. He also served as the commandant of the Command and Staff College in Quetta.
Further, General Anjum has served as the inspector general of the Balochistan Frontier Corps (North) and was the commander of a brigade in Kurram Agency, Hangu.
He graduated from UK's Royal College of Defence Studies. Lt Gen Anjum also holds a degree from the Asia-Pacific Centre for Security Studies, Honolulu.
