Ten people were killed on Thursday after a speeding truck rammed into a bus in Jamshoro district.
Another 13 were injured in the accident, according to Radio Pakistan. Jamshoro police said the bus was en route to Karachi from Bahawalpur when the accident transpired. A blaze engulfed the bus after, according to APP.
The injured have been taken to Liaquat University Hospital.
Twenty people were killed after a passenger bus collided with an oil tanker on the Multan-Sukkur motorway earlier in August. Six were injured in the accident.
According to Multan Deputy Commissioner Tahir Wattoo, the passenger bus was heading from Lahore to Karachi, and it hit the oil tanker from the rear side near the Jalalpur Peerwala interchange, as per a report by Dawn.
Both vehicles caught fire and 20 people died on the spot. In a tweet, Multan Commissioner Amir Khattak said that the incident took place at 4am.
The collision, however, took place at 2:20am, according to the Rescue 1122.
A motorway policeman was quoted as saying that the tanker was carrying thousands of litres of petrol and the incident transpired after the driver of the bus fell asleep.
DC Wattoo later issued another statement saying DNA testing was being initiated to identify the deceased.
Taking notice of the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has demanded a report from the Multan commissioner. Those responsible must be nabbed, he has been directed.
