If We Let Them Win, God, History And Future Generations Won't Forgive Us: Imran Khan
PTI chairman Imran Khan has urged his supporters to ensure that the Punjab elections take place as per the apex court's verdict at all costs, saying they must not let any efforts against it succeed.

"Allah has made it incumbent upon us to struggle for justice and freedom," the former premier said during a live telecast. He added, "they are trying to escape elections with every threat and conspiracy that they can use."

But if we let them succeed in their designs, we will not be forgiven by Allah, neither will the history and the future generations.

According to Imran, the only way that the country was going to be saved is through elections. "They do not have any plan going forward," he said, in an apparent reference to the coalition government.

Observing that the top court's verdict had establishment the Constitution's supremacy, he said, "If they will not act as per the Constitution, we will take to the streets."

Earlier today, the National Assembly passed a resolution rejecting the three-judge verdict of the Supreme Court in the Punjab elections case.

The resolution – moved by MNA Khalid Magsi – urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to ‘not obey the ruling’.

It noted that the demand from different quarters for the constitution of a full-court to hear the case was rejected by the bench.

On Tuesday, the federal cabinet rejected the apex court’s decision, annulling the ECP move to postpone the polls.

In its verdict, the Supreme Court declared the ECP’s decision regarding the postponement of elections in Punjab as null and void.

A three-member bench, led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial and including Justices Ijaz Ul Ahsan and Munib Akhtar, announced the decision.

In its ruling, the Supreme Court deemed the election body’s decision to hold elections on October 8 “unconstitutional” and mandated that they take place on May 14 in Punjab.
