Gaza Death Toll Mounts To 33,137

Since October 7, Israel's military operation in Gaza has killed at least 33,137 Palestinians and injured 75,815, the Gaza Health Ministry reported.

According to Unicef Executive Director Catherine Russell, more than "13,000 children" were killed and "countless" more injured during Israel's onslaught on Gaza.

"Homes, schools, and hospitals are in ruins. Teachers, medics, and humanitarians were slain. A famine is approaching. The scale and speed of the devastation are startling. Children need a ceasefire now," Russell posted on the X account, formerly known as Twitter.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres said he was "deeply troubled" by reports that the Israeli military utilized artificial intelligence (AI) to select targets in Gaza, resulting in "high levels of civilian casualties."

"AI should be used as a force for good to benefit the world; not to contribute to waging war on an industrial level, blurring accountability," he wrote on X.
