Most Pakistanis believe that former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairperson Imran Khan could not win more than two National Assembly seats from the nine constituencies in the by-elections, scheduled to be held on September 25.
The PTI had announced on Friday that Imran will contest the by-elections across nine NA seats.
The Naya Dur TV conducted a survey on Saturday to find out public opinion regarding chances of Imran’s success in the by-polls.
People openly expressed their opinion during the survey. Around 19 per cent of the participants believed that the PTI chief will win all the nine seats in the by-elections while only six per cent believed that he will lead in 6 to 8 constituencies.
In the survey, 18 per cent of the participants said that they think the former premier will win only three to five seats from the nine constituencies.
However, as many as 58 per cent of the participants opined that it is impossible for Imran to make a clean sweep in the by-elections as according to them, he will get only two seats.
Earlier, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced that by-polls on nine NA seats that fell vacant following the resignations of PTI lawmakers will be held on September 25.
According to a notification issued by the ECP, the by-elections will be held for the constituencies of NA-22 Mardan, NA-24 Charsadda, NA-31 Peshawar, NA-45 Kurram, NA-108 Faisalabad, NA-118 Nankana Sahib, as well as NA-237, 239, and 246 of Karachi.
