After weeks of hot weather in Karachi, there looks to be some relief as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasted gloomy skies and high winds for the next ten days in the port city.
According to the meteorological department, thunderstorms are forecast in many Sindh cities between June 7 and 10.
Sardar Sarfaraz, Chief Meteorologist, stated that the weather in Karachi was shifting due to a strong sea breeze. "The metropolis would remain partly cloudy and windy for the next 10 days."
He said that rain with thunderstorms is expected in parts of Sindh between June 7 and 10, adding that upper and central Sindh might see heatwaves starting next week.
The return of the sea wind has lowered the temperature in Karachi, offering respite to the public after days of oppressive heat.
Meanwhile, rain has relieved the scorching weather in the country's higher regions, including cities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to a statement issued by the PMD on Monday, thunderstorms and precipitation will relieve the scorching weather conditions in Pakistan's upper and central regions, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Diamir, Astore, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Murree, Galliyat, Quetta, and Zhob.
