Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has categorically told Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan that Major General Faisal cannot be named in an FIR of the Wazirabad attack, analyst Muzamal Suharwardy said on Monday.
He made the comments in flagship Naya Daur TV show Khabar Say Aagay. Elahi, he said, had met Khan earlier today. Even when he had called on him at the hospital, Suharwardy said Elahi had told Khan how an FIR could be registered against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah but not Major General Faisal.
Suharwardy said Elahi had also told Khan how he will not dissolve the Punjab Assembly too. The analyst said he had told the PTI chief that the PTI was free to appoint a chief minister of their choice instead who could do the same.
Journalist Hassan Ayub Khan said an FIR of the Wazirabad incident had been registered. Hassan, however, said it featured no names Khan or his party desired to be inscribed.
Former Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) Irfan Qadir said the law was crystal clear. What was being witnessed, he said however, was the PTI chairman's conflicts with state institutions. Qadir said Khan considered them hostile too.
Flagship Naya Daur TV show Khabar Say Aagay streams every Monday to Saturday at 9pm.
