A terror attack at an oil and gas firm in Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Tuesday morning resulted in the martyrdom of two policemen and the injury of three more.

The deputy superintendent of police (DSP) said the terrorist incident occurred in the Drazanda tehsil of DI Khan, where police officers were injured and martyred.

The DSP stated that the two policemen's bodies and the injured officers had been sent to a hospital. He said that one of the officers was seriously injured.

The DSP said that the police officers were deployed there to protect the oil firm, adding that they are currently looking for the culprits.

It is pertinent to mention here that in the short space of a few days, there have been five terror attacks in DI Khan.

On Sunday, security officers thwarted a terrorist attack on the Gul Imam Police Station in the Tank area of the district. The incident caused injuries to one of the police constables.

Following the militants' attack on the police station, there was a gunfight between the assailants and the policemen. Then the insurgents left the region.

A terrorist strike on a checkpost in the Roori neighborhood of the Kulachi tehsil injured another police officer that same day. According to the police, the assailants utilized both small and heavy weapons during an exchange of fire, after which they were able to flee.

In a bomb that targeted a police van in DI Khan's Tank Adda neighborhood on Friday, at least six people were murdered and over thirty were injured, including two police officers.

The vehicle was assaulted with a remote-controlled explosion when it was traveling from the Ijaz Shaheed Police Lines to the Kulachi tehsil.

In the Takwara district of Kulachi on Friday, one officer was martyred in another explosion that occurred close to a police and army convoy.

Terrorist assaults have increased in Pakistan in recent months, posing a challenging task.
