Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that he was disappointed over the Supreme Court verdict, but still respects the judiciary. He said that he went to jail for fighting for the independence of judiciary.
While addressing the nation, he said that the apex court should have held probe into the 'serious' allegation of 'foreign conspiracy' against the government. "At least the SC should have looked at the letter which was an attempt at a regime change in Pakistan," he said.
He added that the SC did not announce a verdict on the presidential reference seeking the court's opinion on Article 63-A. Critcising his dissenting members and accusing them of involvement in horse trading, he said: "This is not democracy." The PM said that he expected the Supreme Court to take suo motu notice of floor crossing. "Even those who came to the assembly on reserved seats are selling themselves. Reserves seats are actually a gift from the party," he said.
The PM said that Pakistan's ambassador was told by a US official that If Imran Khan survives the no-trust motion, Pakistan will have to face consequences. "The envoy was also told that if I lose, Pakistan will be forgiven.," Khan said.
He said that the media was also being paid [to celebrate the PTI government's ouster].
