Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's top leader, Latif Khosa, has reiterated PTI members' assertions that detained party founder Imran Khan's release from prison is close, claiming that he will be released this month.
While speaking at a program on Geo News, Khosa said, "I am saying for sure that the PTI founder will be released in April.
Recently, numerous party leaders, including PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, have made similar statements that the detained party founder will be freed from jail shortly.
In response to reports that the release of the PTI founder will be part of any settlement, Kohsa stated that labeling the release as a result of a deal is inappropriate.
He stated that the former premier does not believe in vengeance politics and merely wants the Constitution to be the supreme law of the country.
Speaking about the charges against the PTI founder, Khosa dismissed Khan's conviction in the cipher and un-Islamic nikkah cases, stating: "In the cipher case, the court has already observed 'where is the cipher', while the Iddat case is shameful."
Earlier this month, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi's 14-year sentences in the Toshakhana case and scheduled a hearing on the main appeal against conviction after the Eid holidays.
Khan, on the other hand, remains behind bars after being charged with a variety of offenses, such as violating the Official Secrets Act, terrorism, and corruption.
