The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyam Aurangzeb had been working on digitising Pakistan's musical and cinematic archives for a while. Taking to twitter she announced the ground breaking of Cinema House and Digital Radio Lab at Radio Pakistan Lahore.
As per the promo images shared by the Minister, the aim is to bring back 'the splendour of movie magic back to Pakistan by introducing affordable cinema access.' This is to be done by 'reinvigorating the film entertainment industry and driving innovation and also providing to every Pakistani world class entertainment.'
By setting up digital facilities at Radio Pakistan, a national digital archive will be established and podcast facilities will also be offered.
