Maulana Tahir Ashrafi Comes Out Against Ads ‘Unnecessarily’ Featuring Women Despite ‘So Many Good-Looking Men’
Special Representative of the Prime Minister on Religious Harmony Maulana Tahir Ashrafi has criticised advertisements which feature women “unnecessarily” in marketing their brands.

In his comments to the media, Ashrafi said:
“Despite having so many good-looking men in the country, advertisers still hire women to represent their brands.” He went on to note that he was opposed to women being “unnecessarily featured” in ads.

Ashrafi also spoke of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s efforts against Islamophobia around the world, and government efforts to nab those posting blasphemous content on the internet.

On the rising cases of sexual violence and crimes, he called for severe punishments of the perpetrators, adding:
"The ulema have a role to play in eradicating obscenity, terrorism, and extremism from the country.”
