Purported footage of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif's London neighbours confronting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters over unrelenting demonstrations before Avenfield House has been circulating on social media.
A couple can be seen confronting the PTI supporters as they congregate before the building to demonstrate. The woman can be heard telling off the individuals when a PTI supporter can be heard saying "No, you should not be bothered." The woman, clearly in distress, goes on to continue unfazed. "This is our doorstop. There are children being raised here. And you guys are screaming eat sh*t in front of here on a Sunday when it our only day to relax. Its not fair. We are paying so much money to live in a good neighbourhood."
Urban development specialist Shayk Shack also shared the same in a Twitter post. He, however, also tagged Metropolitan Police to ask why no action had been taken against what he termed was "hooliganism". "This is also for @metpoliceuk to answer why they’re not acting against hooliganism," he wrote.
London police briefly detained PTI supporter Shayan Ali outside Avenfield after a fight broke out last night earlier in October. The fight broke out between PTI and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supporters after some PTI supporters alleged harassed a female member of Sharif’s family. During the fight, Hussain Nawaz Sharif’s son Zakaria Hussain fought off three PTI workers who had attacked a female family member of the Sharif family.
Police briefly detained Shayan Ali after he pushed back a policeman who was trying to break up the fight. Shayan Ali was then handcuffed and held in a police van for a short period of time.
