Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah announced on Friday that preparations to welcome party supremo Nawaz Sharif back home were underway.
Nawaz’s return will help the ruling party clinch much-needed votes in the Punjab, according to Sanaullah.
The minister made the announcement at a presser in Lahore. He was flanked by PML-N leader Azma Bokhari.
The interior minister also challenged the PTI chief to dissolve Punjab Assembly, saying, “We have decided to brace for the elections.”
Nawaz has been residing in London since November, 2019 after he was allowed to leave Pakistan to receive medical treatment.
Earlier this week, Nawaz had directed Sanaullah to begin preparations for possible polls in the Punjab by shortlisting candidates.
