Maryam Nawaz, PMLN Chief Organiser and Senior Vice President, has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's 'jail bharo' movement should begin with the arrests of Imran Khan's wife Bushra Bibi and Farah Gogi, her aide.
Criticising the former premier during her Abottabad address on Thursday, Maryam said, "Why should the people pay for your crimes; your wife took bribes and the diamond ring. You filled your pockets, not the people."
She went on to say that those who are asking their workers to fill jails filled their pockets during the past 10 years.
"Where has budget for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa gone and why is the institution of accountability shut," she asked.
According to the PML-N stalwart, Imran should before a court if his intention and record was clear, but neither are."
The PTI chief, she quipped could go to Rawalpindi to a public meeting, but cannot appear in the court.
"It's not your injured leg, but your crimes, that are in the way of your appearance in a court of law," she maintained.
Maryam also asked if the former premier initiated any uplift project at all in KP, saying every project has Nawaz Sharif's name on it.
On Monday, the PML-N leader pointed to a statement by the former COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa, wherein he admitted making a mistake by bringing Imran Khan to power.
She said that the merely admittance wasn't enough; there's a need to throw Khan out of national politics.
While addressing a workers’ convention in Multan, she said that Khan had not been in his senses since his ouster.
Maryam also said that while the PTI chief launched a “jail bharo movement', he himself was in the hiding due to a fear of detention.
The former premier announced to launch the movement on February 4, saying he would make a formal announcement in this regard soon.
Addressing his supporters via video link, he told the party’s leaders and workers to wait for his call to initiate the movement.
According to Imran, this campaign would convey to the ruling coalition who people will side with.
