The Christian community has strongly condemned the incident of desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden and urged the international community to take concrete steps to halt such incidents.
While addressing a press conference in Karachi, the Voice For Justice spokesperson condemned the despicable act of desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden and termed it a malicious attempt to create hatred and disturb social and religious harmony.
"Such wilful incitement to hatred and violence cannot be justified under the pretext of freedom of expression and protest. The Christians in Pakistan are shocked and dismayed at such an act," he said.
He urged the international community and the Swedish government to undertake concrete steps to prevent incidents of anti-Muslim hatred.
He said the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran is a deplorable act and must be condemned in the strongest words so that such acts spreading hatred must be stopped.
