Controversial Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut blasted Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker, calling him 'an idiot man', over a fake video of him that has been circulating on social media.
Kangana called the CEO an 'idiot of a man' in a now deleted Instagram story showing screenshots of the video.
The video in question was posted in response to a tweet by a user name Vashudev, who had filmed himself appealing to other Indians to boycott Qatar Airways following the backlash India has been receiving by many Muslim countries over the recent blasphemous comments made by two members of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP).
In the video, Vashudev lambasts Qatar, saying that the country had housed artist MF Hussain who had painted nude images of a Hindu goddess, which is why they should boycott Qatar Airways.
The response containing the fake video seemed to mock Vashudev, and showed a doctored clip of an interview Al Baker gave to Al Jazeera, where fake sarcastic audio has been synced atop the visuals. The fake audio gives the impression that Al Baker is personally appealing to Vashudev to call off the boycott, because his video has made the Qatar Airways business suffer.

"Vashudev is our biggest shareholder with a total investment of 624.50 Indian Rupees. We don't know how to operate anymore. We have grounded all flights. Our operations are not running anymore," the Qatar Airways CEO appears to say in the doctored video.
"Vashudev, habibi, we can give you one entire plane for your TikTok videos, or maybe 2 litres of petrol for free, but please call off this boycott, otherwise how will we survive habibi?" he jibes.
Kangana, not realizing that the video was fake, took offense to people supposedly supporting 'the bully'.
She posted a rant on her Instagram story, which has since been taken down.
"All so-called Indians who are cheering this bully for making fun of a poor man remember this is exactly why you all are a big bojh [burden] on this overpopulated country," she wrote on Instagram, saying, "This idiot of a man has no shame bullying a poor man mocking his insignificance and place in the world."
She also said that although Vashudev was a poor man, and therefore, insignificant for a rich man like Al Baker, he still has the right to express his grief in whatever context it may be.
Previously, Kangana expressed support for Israel during its escalation of attacks on Palestine. She said, "In the fight against radical Islamic terrorism, India stands with Israel. Let’s eradicate the illness of terrorism from the world."
