A Swedish woman working at a United Nations agency in Islamabad was reportedly raped by her Pakistani security guard, and the accused fled the scene after the crime.
The woman, who has not been identified, was affiliated with the United Nations, and had been stationed in Islamabad since January 7 this year. The guard who raped her on Thursday has been identified as Muhammad Safeer, and he had been hired for the protection of her house.
The woman holds the security company that provided the guard, as well as the guard himself, responsible for the incident.
The Islamabad police took note of the crime immediately and has initiated a case regarding it. An FIR has been registered at the Aabpara police station in Islamabad. According to the FIR, the woman reported that the guard broke into her bedroom at night and forced himself on her.
Some news reports state that the woman recorded her statement with the police around 1:30 AM at night on Thursday, after which the FIR was registered, and she was sent to the hospital for a medical checkup.
As per the FIR, after the rapist had left, the woman locked the door and called the police for help. She told the police that she was able to identify the guard by his voice, when he told her to go wash her face in the bathroom as it had gotten blood on it during her struggle.
The woman said she tried to resist the guard's advances initially, but eventually gave up as he was significantly stronger than her. She said at one point she thought he would strangle her to death.
She told the police that when she was sleeping she heard some sort of noise in the bedroom, and before she could get up, the guard attacked and raped her. The police have initiated a search operation to find him.
