I Blocked FIR Against Maj Gen Faisal Naseer, Says Parvez Elahi
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has acknowledged that he was the one who, in his capacity as the Punjab chief minister, stopped the filing of a first information report (FIR) and other procedures in the Wazirabad assassination attack on PTI Chairman Imran Khan in November of last year.

In an interview with a private channel on Monday, Elahi said that he had made this choice due to a few technicalities.

While talking about Imran Khan's accusations that a serving major general of the army was involved in two attempts to assassinate him and sabotaged the investigations, Elahi emphasized that one cannot file an FIR against anyone who is a member of the armed forces or any of its institutions.

He stated that Imran Khan appointed him to the position of provincial chief executive; therefore, he was unable to permit any action that may cause emotional distress to the PTI chief.

The former Punjab chief minister also stated that since the judiciary has a specific body to handle these issues, one cannot even file an FIR against a judge.

While criticizing Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, he said he has been repeatedly speaking against the judiciary. "Aren't they ashamed of speaking against the institutions?" Elahi said.

Elahi claimed that interim Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi was an "intruder" because the elections couldn't be held in Punjab despite the 90-day waiting period having passed.

He claimed there was nothing improper about holding elections in June.
