Indian Man Gets FIR Registered Against Wife, In-Laws For ‘Celebrating Pakistan Win’
A man from the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh has got his wife and in-laws booked for allegedly celebrating Pakistan’s win over India in the ongoing ICC Men’s World T20.

The First Information Report (FIR) was filed against the family in UP’s Rampur town after the man complained that his wife and in-laws were ‘mocking the Indian cricket team’ following their defeat on October 24.

“After the case of mocking the Indian cricket team came to us, we filed the FIR,” the local Superintendent of Police Ankit Mittal told Indian media

Ishan Miya, the FIR’s complainant, lives in Rampur’s Azim Nagar area. The complaint on the basis of which the police formed the FIR claimed that Rabia Shamsi, the complainant’s wife, along with ther family also burst firecrackers to celebrate Pakistan’s win.

“WhatsApp status was put up to celebrate Pakistan’s win in the T20 World Cup contest,” says the FIR.

Rampur’s Ganj Police Station filed the FIR under the Indian Penal Code Section 153-A and the Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008 Section 67.

The FIR claims that the spouses have not been living together. Rabia Shamsi’s family had earlier filed a dowry case against Ishan Miya.
