Quetta police have arrested two suspects who are accused of recording inappropriate videos of women and later sharing them online.
Police investigation revealed that the two suspects, who are brothers, lured women by offering them jobs and then forced them to tape inappropriate videos that they would later share.
The police say that they have also contacted Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) cybercrime cell for assistance in the investigation. Police added that mobile phones, videos, USBs, and other devices containing the videos have been sent for forensic analysis.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has also taken notice of the issue and said that the culprits should be dealt with strictly.
The investigation is being conducted by a team headed by SSP Operations Abdul Haq.
For interrogation purposes, the suspects have been remanded into police custody for 14 days.
This is not the first such incident that has been recorded in the country. In August this year, a mob descended on a woman as she was in Lahore’s Greater Iqbal park making a TikTok video with friends. In broad daylight, the men picked up the young woman and tossed her between them, tearing her clothes and assaulting and groping her. The shocking assault was captured on several was captured on several videos and went viral.
